Christmas 2017 at our Little House in the City

Christmas 2017 post to my blog:

Last year at this time we were in the middle of a huge downsizing effort.  We moved out of a large home (we closed on December 8, 2016) and we moved to a town home almost half the size.  Moving last year didn't leave much time for decorating.  When my kids came home from college for the holidays they complained because they were used to a lot of holiday cheer and things were pretty sparse around here.  I promised them I would decorate but I also made the pledge that if I wasn't using any decorations, they would be donated to Good Will.

The first day of decorating -we purchased a Noble Fir and got it set up.

The lights were next, before the ornaments.

Our Christmas tree theme  is always "nature" and our ornaments include bird nests and animals.  I was raised in New Mexico so I always add red and green "chili peppers" to my lights for some pretty Christmas color.

Here are some of my ornaments.

Our dining room also got decorated.

 The moose tree.

 Our nativity.

Our advent wreath.

 The kitchen.

When you push the button on our sweet mariachi's hand he sings "Feliz Navidad".

My most favorite Christmas song by Jose Feliciano!!

Even the bathroom got a couple of decorations.

The entry hall.

The living room.

The patio at dusk.

The patio in the evening.

 The front yard gate.

A small front yard is definitely easier to decorate.  I even put lights out front.

Hedwig says Happy Holidays!  I wish all my friends the very best of the season!
