Antique Family Quilts

Both my husband, Joe Kordzi and I inherited many vintage/antique family quilts, including some that are very old.  These quilts are precious to us.  My husband plans to build a "ladder" that will hold the majority of these quilts for display.

This blog post is for my family, so that they may be able to identify the quilts and to also give credit to our ancestors who so lovingly made them for us to appreciate and cherish.  All the quilts are linked to the ancestors who made them and are included on my family tree located on Ancestry.com.

Joseph John Kordzi III Family Quilts

Betty Jo Glisson Kordzi was an expert seamstress who had her own sewing and alteration business where she made many quilted garments, in addition to sewing garments such as wedding gowns.  Her business was located in Arnold, PA.  This is a picture of her at a craft show showing all the quilts and quilted garments (jackets, coats, robes) she made for sale.

    1. Thank you Aimee! I'm very proud of them. I'm in the process of identifying all the quilt patterns that are unnamed. I'll keep updating the post as I learn them. I have all the ancestors linked to my family tree on Ancestry.com but I may also add their photos to the blog post as well.
